Metalizer™ Co-6 is a versatile, carbon-containing hard alloy based on cobalt-chromium-tungsten. In-situ forming hard phases provide excellent protection against abrasion in combination with an advantageous matrix that enables resistance to adhesion, corrosion, impact, and cavitation. It combines high hot hardness, very good corrosion resistance, and low friction coefficients—even at temperatures up to approx. 500°C, and briefly even up to 750°C.
The proven microstructure with (W,Cr) carbides in a ductile Co matrix ensures stable mechanical properties under thermal-cyclic loading. Metalizer™ Co-6 is the first choice for protective coatings on heavily stressed components such as valve and seal seats, pump parts, guide bushings, extruder screws, rollers, shears, or spindles—e.g., in the energy, plant, shipbuilding, or plastics processing industries.
